font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">a)<\/span> <span style=\"color: #993300;\">Blood Tests<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">phone laboratory to alert staff that sample is arriving.\u00a0 All samples must be hand delivered to labs. 60-70 mls blood required and should be taken as soon as patient is admitted<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">*FBC<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">*U&amp;E<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">*Baseline calcium\/phosphorus\/LFT&#8217;s (results available post-op)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">*Clotting screen\/INR (if on Warfarin)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">*Blood Group and save<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Tissue Typing (white clotted bottle for lymphocytotoxic antibodies, plus 5ml EDTA sample.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Virology &#8211; CMV, HIV, Hep B + C (only if &gt;1\/12 since last test)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">*Glucose<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">BM test on ward<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Note that SARS-CoV-2 (or other respiratory) virus swab screening should <strong>NOT<\/strong> be done routinely in asymptomatic patients.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; color: #993300;\">*<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Blood results must be obtained urgently <\/span><\/strong>as patient may require dialysis prior to operation depending on this result.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\">Repeat U&amp;Es are required 30 minutes following dialysis.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">b)<\/span><\/strong> <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Chest X-ray<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">c)<\/span><\/strong> <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">ECG<br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">d)<\/span><\/strong> <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">MSSU<\/span> &#8211;
