This involves treatment on a kidney dialysis machine for four hours each time<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_2344\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter align centre\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edren.org\/ren\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/assessmentphoto3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2344\" class=\"wp-image-2344 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/edren.org\/ren\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/assessmentphoto3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2344\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Joyce is referred to the Transplant Unit for assessment. She is found to be a suitable candidate and her name is added to the Transplant List<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_2345\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter align centre\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edren.org\/ren\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/assessmentphoto4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2345\" class=\"wp-image-2345 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/edren.org\/ren\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/assessmentphoto4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2345\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">Joyce&#8217;s sister Elizabeth would like to donate one of her kidneys. Their blood groups are compatible, so Elizabeth can be considered as a donor . She has an in-depth discussion with the Transplant Team before deciding to go ahead with the assessment.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_2347\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter align centre\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edren.org\/ren\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/assessmentphoto5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2347\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2347\" src=\"http:\/\/edren.org\/ren\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/assessmentphoto5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2347\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The process can take 3-6 months to complete. Elizabeth is referred to an Independent Physician for further discussion. The assessment includes blood pressure monitoring, ECG, blood and urine tests, scans, X-Rays and renal angiogram.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"attachment_2346\" style=\"width: 460px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter align centre\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edren.org\/ren\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/assessmentphoto6.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2346\" class=\"wp-image-2346 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/edren.org\/ren\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/assessmentphoto6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"450\" height=\"550\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2346\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">The investigations prove that Elizabeth is very healthy and has two well-functioning kidneys. A date is set for the operation.
