Who are we?
The Renal Young Adult Support Service was established in May 2023. The service provides tailored support through individual consultations for patients aged 16-35, including a monthly peer support group at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
The service is led by Sharlene Taylor, Renal Young Adult Support Worker, who supports patients both individually, at home, in the hospital or out in the community as well as in group settings. Sharlene can help with guidance on benefits, access grants via KCUK for holidays or hardship, provides emotional and practical support and attend clinic or GP appointments.
